ATHENS – International flights to Greece are poised for a significant upswing in summer 2025, with a projected 4.6% increase in seat capacity, reaching 28.2 million seats, according to INSETE, the research arm of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE).
The latest figures from INSETE’s Air Data Tracker highlight Greece’s enduring appeal as a top travel destination. Traditional European markets remain strong, with the UK leading at 5.6 million seats (up 2.2%), followed by Germany at 4.7 million seats (up 2.5%), and Italy at 2.5 million seats (up 3.9%). Together, these countries account for 20%, 17%, and 9% of total capacity, respectively.
Emerging markets are also driving growth. Israel saw the largest jump, with a 52.1% increase to over 1.3 million seats, while the US boosted capacity by 18.6% to 727,000 seats. Smaller markets like Saudi Arabia (up 45% to 84,000 seats), Albania (up 56% to 156,000 seats), Armenia (up 68.5% to 75,000 seats), and Georgia (up 113% to 126,000 seats) also posted impressive gains.
The data points to a robust tourism outlook for Greece, fueled by both established and emerging global demand.
