Michelin Guide Athens 2022: See the Stars

Source: Fine Dining Lovers

The Michelin Guide Athens 2022 has landed, and contains one new two-star restaurant, as well as two new one-star additions.

“As the cradle of Western civilisation, Athens is experiencing a full-fledged gastronomic renaissance thanks to talented chefs who are coming to the capital to launch their restaurant. Some of them are from the Greek islands and have a thirst for revival in Athens, while others are going back to their roots after experiencing Northern Europe, but all of them are passionate professionals who have it at heart to shine a light on the City of the Violet Crown’s culinary scene,” said Michelin Guide international director, Gwendal Poullennec.

At new two-star Delta, found at the heart of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, chefs George Papazacharias and Thanos Feskos offer a culinary experience to diners seated amongst a cornucopia of greenery. They apply Scandinavian techniques and concepts to Greek ingredients, drawing on their experience in high-end Nordic restaurants. They also receive a green star for their ethical sensibilities.

At new one-star Soil, in the Pangrati, chefs Tasos Mantis and Alexandros Mouridis draw on a farm-to-table approach, growing their own vegetables in their Alepochori vegetable garden, which has also yielded them a green star.

The Zillers, which boasts views of the Acropolis, also joins this year’s one-star club, with chef Pavlos Kiriakis offering his own take on local traditions with creative tasting menus.
